Is All This Innovation Working? Evaluating New Initiatives in Schools

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Every important new initiative in schools should be regularly evaluated to see if its actually changing learning experiences and outcomes for students. If your school has launched a one-to-one program with iPads or Chromebooks, built a Maker space, conducted professional development around design thinking, or made new apps or software available to your teachers and students, then people in your school should be taking stock to see how these investments of time and resources are having an impact on kids' lives and learning. In this session, we'll evaluate a variety of strategies--surveys, interviews, instructional rounds, and looking at student work--that help school communities come together to evaluate innovation and use formative program assessment to improve teaching and learning.
