Billy’s work stretches from coast-to-coast as an Learning Experience Designer at Design39Campus in San Diego, California and an adjunct faculty at the University of Southern Maine in Portland, Maine. Billy, an Apple Distinguished Educator, loves kids and is a tireless advocate for how kids learn best, speaking on this topic at Maine’s biggest conferences such as Leveraging Learning, ACTEM, Maine DOE Move the Needle, and at Apple’s 2015 Apple Distinguished Educator Summer Institute. Billy specializes in creating project-based learning experiences that are empathy-fueled, human-centered, and infused with purposeful educational technology. Prior to joining Design39Campus, Billy spent 12 years teaching in the Caribbean and Maine. His experience is diverse having taught kindergarten, 3rd grade, 4th grade, technology, special education, and response to intervention in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and physical education and health along with director of athletics at the Saints Peter and Paul School in St. Thomas, USVI. Although Billy lives in California, his Maine roots remain strong as a member of the #EdChatME Design Team.
